The Nike Lunarfly+ ($80 retail) is a mashup of two shoes and Lunar technology all in one. First off, the seamless upper is modeled off the Zoom Hayward. The sole is a blend of the Avant with Lunar foam. Mix these ingredients all together and you have a flexible, soft, and lightweight trainer.
Right after I slipped these on I knew Nike had accomplished a great combo. These shoes felt completely natural on my feet and I was itching to take them for a test spin right away. Thanks to the seamless upper, the ‘Flys feel as if you’re wearing a sock even if you kick around in them barefoot. Today I took them out for a 12 miler on the Potomac Overlook trails near my place. During my run I was surprised at how flexible, yet strong the shoes held up over roots, rocks, and tight turns on the trails. If I could sum up my feelings about these shoes with a catchphrase it would be, “The Lunarfly+ feels like you’re tip-toeing along a responsive cloud.”
Final thoughts: These run big, so be sure to buy 1/2 a size down than you usually do with your Nike’s. I am a consistent 12 and the 11.5 fits perfect for me. Hit the link below for the rest of my pictures.
